Time and again, the wisdom of the ages has given us fair warning:

“Hesitate and one is lost.” “Strike while the iron is hot.” “It’s now or never.” Ironically, there are instances when circumstances conspire to stop us from “seizing the day.” Times when life says “No...not now.” If nothing else, recent events have reminded us of that.

But there are other times when we – misguided as we are – intentionally, deliberately say “No, not now.” For reasons we’re convinced are valid, we postpone. We delay. We say “Later. In a while. Maybe tomorrow.”

But we shouldn’t.

And so it is our responsibility to life itself to squeeze every last grain of joy, of warmth, of intimacy, of love, from the Great Now. If we don’t, those moments expire, unblossomed. They’re gone forever – irretrievable, unrecoverable. But if we do, the memories we create will sustain us, and those whom we love, for  the whole of our lives:
